This coffee table is a solid piece of furniture with a well-used facade and colour spectrum that did not match the other pieces in the living space. Nevertheless, it combined a robust space for family gatherings and a showcase area sharing past adventures.
Striping back the old finish on the top revealed a lovely wood grain. Using an oak coloured stain by Lignocolor I finished it with their 1K Multi-seal (fast becoming my favourite finish for any surface that needs to resist hard use). The colour chosen for the legs was Trendsetter Blue, a chalk paint by Fleur (an Italian company) and buffed to a slight sheen using furniture wax. The display drawer is once again home to a family collection of seashells from around the world with the blue legs and oak stained top offsetting the display beautifully.
