This charming little sideboard was gathering dust in a furniture thrift store in the south of Germany. It needed a lot of help removing years of grime and layers of furniture polish. It also needed an updated look to bring out its true character. The veneer was that gorgeous red/gold I love and just needed a little stripping and restaining to bring back its vibrancy. The sides and inner space got a Storm colour treatment from the Lignocolor range and I found this bold self-adhesive wall print to act as a contrasting backdrop. The old ‘legs’ were removed and 4 new legs stained to match the existing veneer were attached. This added height as well as elegance. The transformation was complete when I cleaned and repainted the hardware a matt old gold. As always, I’m incredibly grateful that a piece I’ve worked on has found a new home and am excited that it will bring joy to its new owners in the years to come.
